This blog is about my recent visit to San Fransisco and Lake Tahoe in California state.
The Mystery Spot is a tourist spot in Santa Cruz, California, US. It is a small area 150feet dia located in. the hills among red wood forest, In this spot law of gravitation, law of equilibrium do not apply. You will stand leaning backwards or sideways. Even a ball rolled over a wooden plank comes from lower point to higher point.
Henry G.Hubbard Engineer has found excessive corbon-dioxide believed to have come out of cracks between rocks in the hill side. Concentration of this gas result in light headed feeling, dizzy and sick for some.
Municipal Rose Garden in San Jose, CA, US blooming with rose plants of varied colours. Entire areas in CA is full of Roses, along the roads, surrounding the houses, and where not! Watering the plants are done with sprinklers fixed around them. Green; green everywhere!
San Francisco, is the leading financial and cultural center of Northern California &one of the top tourist destinations in the world. This is Bus Tour in San Fransisco, taking us round the Down Town of SFO It is very narrow and sloppy, with high rise buildings all around,, You can see a crooked street with zig zag alignment in falling gradient. They say there is nowhere such road in World.
The San Fransisco City Hall
houses Mayor and other City Administrators.Silicon Valley is in the southern
part of SFO, home for world's largest IT companies. So, lot of Asians and
particularly Indians are there and more of Indian Restaurants.
The Golden Gate Bridge
is a suspension bridge,a steel bridge,2.7KM long spanning the Golden Gate,
the opening of the San Francisco Bay
into the Pacific Ocean. Constructed during 1937, it is the most
beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world, painted with
international color viz. orange.
Alcatraz Island is located in the San Francisco Bay
1.5 miles (2.4 km) offshore .This island was used as prison and for
military activities until 1986. Now it is turned as tourist spot, taking people
in cruise from Pier 39 to island and
visiting the prison and other historical places in the island . This island is
known as "THE ROCK".
This is "HARD ROCK CAFE",
in SFO. It is a chain of world wide restaurants for music lovers. In the
restaurant, they exhibit the memorable of world famous musicians.
This is Angel Island 15 minutes
drive from SFO coast through cruise. It was once a immigration center from 1910
to 1940, the Angel Island Immigration Station processed approximately 1 million
Asian immigrants, mainly Chinese, entering into the US., many immigrants spent years on the
island, waiting for entry. Military camps and forts, a U.S. Public Health Service Quarantine
Station were functioning during World Wars. Now, it is turned into a Tourist
spot.
17-Mile Drive from Pacific Grove to Pebble Beach in California is widely
recognized as one of the most scenic drives in the world. We have to pay $10 to
drive thru’ this stretch. To drive thru this stretch enjoying the sea and surrounding
at every vista points may easily take more than two hours.
This is Pebble Beach. You can see white Pebbles in the beach, with light
blue sky, dark blue sea and white sea surfing waves is a real scenic beauty.
This entire stretch is maintained by Pebble Beach company.
This is known as Bird
Rock because on a huge rock little bit away from the shore, sea birds such as
seagull, black crow like birds, pelicans, pigeons etc. flock in large group. To
make these birds as prey, otters, sea lion, seals like sea animals swim around
this rock. These birds easily mingle with tourists to catch the feed they
provide. With white sand and rocky terrain seal and other sea animals breed at
this stretch. It is said even whales from North Alaska region come to this
stretch for breeding.
So, tourists are not allowed from 1st April to June end
in this beach.
National Marine Life Conservation, California maintain the sea
coast and see these rare extinct sea animals survive and breed.
This beach has full
of Cyprus trees. But this Lone Cyprus
Tree has prevailed on its rocky perch
for over 250 years in bit away from shore. The Lone Cypress recognized among “10
Most Magnificent Trees in the World” by World Amazing Events.com February
2009.
This Ghost Tree : These trees trunks bleached white by sea wind and moisture
and with different shape gives
silhouette like ghosts look.
On one side of the
drive, entire stretch of sea shore gives a scenic beauty. On the other side,
there are number of Golf course. This spectacular ocean side course, considered
the greatest public golf course in America. US
Open Golf Tournament are conducted here. In between the golf courses, there are
lot of holiday resorts and big guest houses all along.
Lake Tahoe is a large
freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States. At a surface
elevation of 6,225 ft, it is located along the border between California and
Nevada, west of Carson City. Mountains all round with thick forest on three
side and rocky mountain where you can see snow covering them in winter, on one
side with sea like water spread gives an excellent scenic beauty.
People enjoy here
with skiing and other winter sports during Winter and kayaking, motor boats,
paddle boards, floating beds, water scooter, etc. during Summer in the bright
sun above and chill water in the lake.
